RAPID INCREASE IN CHILD HARASSEMENT IN PAKISTAN AND INDIA
Topic for my blog writing is CHILD ABUSE IN PAKISTAN AND INDIA but first let’s talk about what child abuse really is. Child abuse is not just a physical violence directed on a child it can be any kind of mistreatment by an adult which includes mental torture, threats, or to keep the child under some kind of pressure. So this is the brief introduction about child harassment now I am going to tell you about the situation of child harassment in Pakistan.
Pakistan is one of the leading countries with child sexual abuse in the world according to public health report around 40% children are harassed annually in Pakistan. Child harassment is a very serious problem in Pakistan and even after a rapid increase thousands of criminals often goes unpunished just because of weak law and order of the state. Because these wild animals in the skin of human being use to bribe police departments and these police officers happily let them go after accepting heavy amount for which they demanded and then what happened at the end the victim of child harassment remains left alone without achieving the justice.
This is the situation of child harassment in Pakistan and this same thing is happening in India. But now let’s put some light on situation of child harassment in India. According to a report India ranks no.1 in child harassment and even in that girls are mostly targeted in these cases because of wearing short or revealing dresses. The report is released in the month of May and according to it 65% of girls are harassed annually and most of them are targeted at their workplaces and the people who faced such incidents are not ready to file a complaint because of their family pressure, threats and fear.
And now I am here to mention that how to take care of children who have been abused. If you are a parent or a care giver so it is natural that you feel shocked and stressed and at that time it is very important that first of all you should calm and remind yourself that your moral support will have significant impact on the child who have been sexually abused. Parents should believe their child to help them and feel safe again they must encourage their child to share their feeling and it’s important for the children to be taught to identify and express their feelings in the best possible manner.
And most important thing here is do not exaggerate the abusive experience like mothers may feel that abusive experience might prevent the child from getting married and then they build up extra ordinary pressure upon their children that they would not let anyone know about the incident. Moreover do not avoid the topic of abuse especially if the child want to talk and share about it in addition don’t be angry on your child for not letting you know about the abuse sooner children do not report abuse because variety of reasons which includes fear, stress, anxiety etc.
And here I am going to mention some rules and laws which are made by government of Pakistan against child harassment which are surely not implemented but according to 24 justice.pk the maximum punishment is life imprisonment or minimum is 10 years in prison. Moreover child abusers also face strict fines which can be as high as 1 million rupees. On the other hand India has also made some rules and laws against child harassment. According to the section 317 the punishment for sexual assault in India is straight to life imprisonment more and more it can be heavy strict fines or criminals should be hanged to death.
Lastly I want to deliver this small awareness message to all my viewers and readers that
“Please do not avoid harassment issues it’s a very sensitive matter and it is increasing rapidly especially in PAKISTAN AND INDIA and please do help victims of such incidents encourage them so that they can speak up for their right and can seek justice”
“LAW IS EQUAL FOR ALL EITHER IT’S A RANDOM CITIZEN OR EVEN A POLICE OFFICER IF YOU SAW THAT A POLICE OFFICER DOING SOMETHING WRONG WITH YOU THEN YOU SHOULD FILE A COMPLAINT AGAINST HIM AS WELL IS YOUR DUTY AND YOUR RIGHT BE A RESPONSIBLE CITIZEN”
